How to Brew Loose Leaf Tea

1. If using a teapot preheat it by adding boiling water and then discard the water. Ingenious pots, tea strainers and fillable tea bags can also be used.

2.  Add 1 tsp. loose leaf tea per 6-8 ounces of water. (One of our Epicurean Pantry Perfect Teaspoons make measuring easy)

This is the recommended amount and everyone's tastes are different so you can adjust from there if you like a stronger or lighter brew.

3.  Pour fresh boiling/heated water over your tea.   The tea you are using will have a recommended water temp and steep time.  If using an ingenious pot, tea strainer or tea bag add your leaves to your appropriate temp water.

4.  Remove tea leaves. Enjoy and Savor!  Remember some leaves deserve a second or third steeping.

If making ice tea ~ Brew as above and chill or increase the amount of tea and pour over ice to drink right away.  Cold steeping can also be done by putting leaves in cool water and steeping in the refrigerator over night. If putting over ice, make a stronger brew so it will not get diluted. Our premeasured ice tea bags can also make this an easy task, but our loose-leaf tea also gives you so many flavor options!
